2. Kimia : peristiwa menguapnya pelarut dari campuran yang terdiri atas zat terlarut yang tidak mudah menguap dan pelarut yang mudah menguap. Dalam kebanyakan proses evaporasi, pelarutnya adalah air. Tujuan dari evaporasi adalah memekatkan konsentrasi larutan sehingga didapatkan larutan dengan konsentrasi yang lebih tinggi.
